You should not invest in risky activities or joint. You can easily invest their money in ways that are very safe, which will show a decent return over a long period of time.

First consider bonds. There are several types of bonds you can buy. Bonds are similar to certificates of deposit. Instead of being issued by banks, however, bonds are issued by the government. Depending on the type of bonds they purchase, the initial investment may double over a period of time.

Mutual funds are relatively safe. Mutual funds exist when a group of investors pool their money to buy stocks, bonds or other investments. A fund manager typically decides how the money is invested. All you have to do is find a way reputation brokers who deal with mutual funds and invest the money he or she, along with other client money. Mutual funds are a bit ‘more risky than bonds.

Stocks are another vehicle for long-term investment. Shares of stocks are essentially shares of ownership of companies they invest in. When the company makes good financial, it increase shareholder value. However, if a company is doing badly, the stock goes down. Stocks, of course, are riskier than mutual funds. Although there is a higher risk, you can buy further shares in healthy companies like G & Electric, and sleep at night knowing that money is relatively safe.

The most important thing is to do research before investing money in long-term gain. If buying stocks you should choose stocks that are well established. When looking for a mutual fund to invest in, choose a broker that is well defined and has a proven track record. If you are not yet ready to take the risks involved with mutual funds or stocks, at least invest in securities that are guaranteed by the government.
